SWEET TRANSVESTITE es una de las canciones más populares de una banda sonora -basada en un musical de teatro y posterior película- revolucionaria en su contexto -Estados Unidos/Reino Unido- y en su época -1975-: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, dirigida por Jim Sharman, se ha convertido desde su lanzamiento en una película de culto para varias generaciones. Su descaro y frescura, el homenaje a las películas de ciencia ficción de serie B, la locura que invade el metraje y la mención explícita del travestismo o las relaciones homosexuales, la convierten en rara avis. Escrita por Richard O’Brien, la canción recoge la presentación de Frank N. Furter, científico loco, travesti, transexual de Transilvania encarnado por Tim Curry. 

Tim Curry es un actor y cantante británico que ha participado en numerosos musicales de Broadway y películas a ambos lados del atlántico. Su carrera musical no logró excesiva repercusión aunque editó 3 discos entre finales de los años 70 y comienzos de los 80′s del siglo XX. Pese a todo, ha participado en momentos clave de la música popular, como el proyecto The Wall de Pink Floyd o el disco Sandinista de The Clash.
