"KEEP IT TOGETHER". MADONNA. EL MENSAJE DE LA CANCIÓN (LA FAMILIA ES LO MÁS IMPORTANTE DE LA VIDA)

Keep it Together (Mantenlo en Grupo) es el sexto y último sencillo del álbum Like a Prayer de la cantante pop estadounidense Madonna publicado el 30 de enero de 1990. La canción está escrita por Madonna y Stephen Bray y se lanzó como sencillo únicamente en Estados Unidos y Japón. En Australia se editó con la canción "Vogue" como lado B.
Lírica mente, el álbum Like a Prayer es considerado como uno de los más íntimos y personales de Madonna, manifestando sus propias relaciones privadas, experiencias con la religión, hombres, y su propia familia. Así, el sonido de "Keep it Together" hace tributo al grupo Sly and the Family Stone, acerca de la realización importante de como la familia de Madonna se ha mantenido en forma de estabilidad en su vida ("Brothers and sisters/They've always bee there for me/We have a connection/Home is where the heart should be").
La letra de la canción da a entender el curso del ascenso de Madonna desde el momento en que abandona su hogar paterno ("I'm gonna leave this place/So I can't forget every single hungry face") para convertirse en una superestrella ("I hit the big time but I still get the blues/Everyone's a stranger/City life can get to you"). A pesar de su contradictora experiencia durante su etapa de adolescente, el mensaje de la canción es que la familia es lo mas importante de la vida, con Madonna afirmando para nunca olvidar que cada familia "is gold" (es oro).

"Keep it Together" fue la última colaboración entre Madonna y Stephen Bray, que justamente se lanzó como sencillo. Esta canción también fue la que abrió la nueva década de Madonna en los años 90.

En Australia, "Keep it Together" se publicó con la canción "Vogue" como lado B, que luego sería un exitoso sencillo de Madonna a las pocas semanas. Por eso el sencillo "Vogue/Keep it Together" resultó todo un éxito en los charts de este país, donde incluso llegó a figurar a fin de ese año en el puesto #3.
No se grabó ningún video musical para "Keep it Together". Sin embargo, algunos canales de música proyectaron sus propios videos a partir de la actuación en vivo en la gira Blond Ambition Tour, que presentaba la sección cabaret en esta canción.

MTV lanzó la actuación realizada en la ciudad de Houston que fue repetida como video musical de la canción.
