Eurythmics es una banda musical inglesa, originaria de Londres, conformado por Annie Lennox (vocalista) y David A. Stewart (compositor) a finales de 1980. Siendo el grupo que abriría la era del videoclip, de las ambigüedades y de la libertad.

El nombre del grupo proviene de la palabra Euritmia (en latín eurythmĭa del griego εὐρυθμία), cuyas raíces devienen del griego Eu -Bien, bueno- y Rythmes -Ritmo- , refiriéndose a la correspondencia que hay en cada una de las partes para producir una obra de arte musicalmente. Otros consideran que significa Ritmo Europeo.

Son conocidos mundialmente por grandes éxitos musicales, tales como, Sweet Dreams, Love Is A Stranger, Who´S That Girl?, Right By Your Side, Here Comes The Rain Again y la celebérrima 1984 también llamada Sex Crime, soundtrack de la película 1984 (Mil novecientos ochenta y cuatro), que fue basada en el libro de George Orwell.

Para finales de los 90’s su producción musical y presentaciones artísticas disminuyó al grado de creérsele ya separados, relanzando sus actividades a partir de 1999, habiendo Annie Lennox en ese periodo lanzado varios éxitos como solista

A Eurythmics se le reconoce por ser una de los grupos líderes del Synth pop de los 80’s y quienes iniciaron la era de los videoclips en esa década. La vocalista causó controversia debido a su look tan andrógino y cuyo cabello aún no se sabe cual es el verdadero color.
