La primera versión de Take On Me (3:10), no es la primera versión de Take On Me, ya que ha habido versiones que a-ha fue arreglando (entre ellas Lesson One y en Bridges The Juicyfruit Song) hasta llegar a su versión más conocida.
El single consiguió alcanzar #3 en Noruega pero fuera, en Reino Unido únicamente,´se tuvo que quedar en el #137.
El single sólo logró vender 300 copias.
La gente se refiere mucho a esta versión de Take On Me como "blue version" por su característico fondo azul en el que a-ha interpreta el tema mientras se ven siluetas de mujeres bailando.
Hubo otra idea sobre el vídeo antes de hacer la versión popular definitive que situaba a a-ha cantando en frente de una cantidad de fans femeninas muy jóvenes. a-ha anuló esta idea.
