Nancy Sandra Sinatra Barbato (8 de junio de 1940; Jersey City, Nueva Jersey), más conocida cómo Nancy Sinatra, es una actriz y cantante estadounidense. Es hija del fallecido Frank Sinatra con su primera mujer, Nancy Barbato.

Junto a su padre grabó la conocida balada Something Stupid (1967). Aunque, posiblemente, Nancy es más conocida por interpretar la pegadiza Sugar Town, Lady Bird o el éxito These Boots are Made for Walkin´ (1966). Lee Hazlewood, el compositor de este éxito de los años sesenta, llegó a producir nueve discos de Nancy e, incluso, grabaron varias canciones del disco Nancy and Lee (1968): un ejemplo es Some Velvet Morning. Un año antes, Nancy y Lee habían puesto voz a la banda sonora de la quinta película de James Bond Sólo se vive dos veces con la canción You Only Live Twice.

Nancy se convirtió en un icono cool del momento. Un físico atractivo, elegante y siempre avanzada a la moda con faldas muy cortas para la época, hicieron que Nancy fuera todo un modelo para adolescentes que compraban sus discos de forma compulsiva. La hoy famosa cantante Madonna ha reconocido a Nancy como uno de sus ídolos juveniles.

Otro de los éxitos de Nancy -compuesto por Sonny Bono y editado en un primer momento por Cher en su álbum The Sonny side of Cher- fue Bang Bang (My Baby Shoot Me Down). La versión, que Nancy grabó en 1967, fue utilizada por Tarantino en Kill Bill y volvió al estrellato.

En 2004 lanzó su último disco hasta el momento: To Nancy with Love, con colaboraciones de Bono, Morrissey, Jarvis Cocker y Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. El primer single -Let Me Kiss You- fue escrito por el propio Morrisey. El 11 de mayo de 2006 recibió una estrella en el Paseo de la fama en Hollywood.

These Boots are Made for Walkin'

Esta canción, que también ha sido versionada por Amanda Lear, María Castedo y Jessica Simpson, entre otras cantantes, fue compuesta por Lee Hazlewood para él mismo. Aunque la canción se convirtió en todo un símbolo de la emancipación de la mujer en la década de los 60, hubiera sido toda una canción machista si hubiera sido cantada por Hazlewood. Y es que dice algo así cómo "si tú me has dejado, yo te aplastaré con mis botas". Pero Nancy, con un físico de maniquí y con una picardía única, consiguió de ella un himno feminista que Stanley Kubrick utilizó cómo banda sonora para La chaqueta metálica. Las botas, entonces, dieron un significado marcial y antibelicista.
