Tainted Love es una canción originalmente escrita por Ed Cobb, del grupo The Four Peps, grabada en 1964 para Gloria Jones y que obtiene popularidad mundial luego que el grupo Soft Cell la lanzara como cover. Marilyn Manson lanza su propia versión en el 2002 como el primer single de la banda sonora de la película Not Another Teen Movie. La canción luego se incluiría como bonus track en su siguiente disco, The Golden Age Of Grotesque. Es el cover más exitoso de la banda después de Sweet Dreams. Su video, dirigido por Philip G. Atwell, obtuvo fuerte rotación en MTV Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica.
En Europa, el sencillo fue lanzado en mayo de 2002 y rápidamente se convirtió en la canción más exitosa de Marilyn Manson en ese continente hasta la fecha, llegando hasta el nº 5 en Inglaterra en el UK Top 75 y consiguiendo cinco posiciones top 10 y tres top 20 en otros países europeos.
En los Estados Unidos, se posiciona en el nº 30 del Mainstream Rock Tracks y en el nº 33 del Modern Rock Tracks.
