KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME. THE CURE. 1987. HISTORIA DE UN ÁLBUM + Videos Y Letras: CATCH + WHY CAN´T I BE YOU? + JUST LIKE HEAVEN + HOT HOT HOT.

Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (en adelante Kiss Mex3 ó Triple beso) es el séptimo álbum de estudio de la banda inglesa liderada por Robert Smith, The Cure. Producido por Dave Allen y Robert Smith, Fue lanzado al mercado en 1987 inicialmente en formato de disco doble vinilo (según se afirma, como una especie de conmemoración por los 10 años de existencia que cumplía la banda ese año). El álbum, el primero de estudio de The Cure en sobrepasar la hora de duración, es por tanto el primero en explotar al completo las capacidades del formato CD.

El disco en sí pasa por una diversa cantidad de estilos, en los que refleja los distintos estados de ánimo de Robert Smith pasando desde la furia descontrolada (temas como The Kiss, Fight, Shiver and Shake, Torture) canciones siniestras y sombrías (Like Cockatoos, The Snakepit, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep), y con temas más serenos y románticos como Catch, para pasar luego a un pop más juguetón incluso en coqueteos con las pistas de baile (Why Can't I Be You?, Hot Hot Hot!!!), que hacen pensar que fueran dos discos diferentes pero entremezclados como si fuera uno solo.

Lo que explica Robert Smith en relación al disco, es que la forma de componer Kiss Mex3 fue resultado de las varias ideas que iban aportando los 5 integrantes de la banda cada uno de forma independente, por ello el resultado de que el disco parezca demasiado diverso. Pese a cosechar un gran éxito comercial y obtener un enorme impacto mundial, la crítica especializada del momento (NME, Q...) lo tildó de largo, denso e incoherente. Lo cierto es que Kiss Mex3 fue un disco brillante, fresco, divertido y para todos los gustos, que rescata la mejor esencia de sus anteriores trabajos como Pornography reinventándose a si mismos y a su sonido, acercándose a momentos tanto de pop pluscuamperfecto (Just Like Heaven) como otros casi Funk (Hot Hot Hot!!!), clara herencia de un The Top revisitado y retocado con mucho más gusto.

El Triple beso de Smith va a convertirse en su trabajo más erótico por la temática de casi todas sus canciones, así como en el más sensual en su concepción musical. El disco se mueve entre canciones dedicadas el amor más idílico e idealizado y otras al sexo más salvaje y lleno de frenesí. Tema por tema vamos a ver todas las caras que tiene el amor, desde sus momentos más inocentes e ingenuos (The Perfect Girl, One More Time), su pasión más idílica (Catch, Just Like Heaven) hasta sus consecuencias más devastadoras y destuctivas (Torture, Icing Sugar).

La gira de presentación del álbum se tituló "The Kissing Tour" y se realizó durante 1987 en dos mangas: la que hicieron por USA y Canadá, en donde llegaron a tocar en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York, y en la que hicieron por Europa donde volvieron a visitar España durante cuatro noches, tres de ellas tocaron en el Palacio de los Deportes de Madrid y la última noche en el Pabellón la Casilla de Bilbao.

Este álbum significó el despegue para la banda en el mercado americano, donde logró ventas significativas. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me es actualmente disco de platino certificado, al haber sobrepasado el millón de ventas sólo en Estados Unidos. Además, el single "Just Like Heaven" fue el primero del grupo en alcanzar el Top 40, y es uno de los temas más famosos del grupo.
